It appears as if someone configured a Saturn Aura just as I would, drove it for 58,000 miles, then took it to CarMax for them to sell it to me for $14k.

How so?

Do it! Clay has aptly described the interior. And it's not a bad looking car.

Peer pressure!
I'd have to hope it sticks around until July, because that's when my parents are going to start looking for a new car for me.

They might even drop the price by then!

I highly doubt Saturns are really flying off their lots anyway.
Why buy a Saturn when you could get a Malibu who's brand is still around for the same price. #peoplelogic

Great negotiating point though, and arguably the Saturn is better looking.

What are you going to do with her? Opel-ise her?
Debadge her?
Most people I know with Vauxhall Vectra C (Saturn Aura) tend to modify them slightly in some visual way.

14k for a 7-yo Saturn? Only a low-mileage Sky is worth that. Edmunds says 10k. KBB says 11k.
Carmax is known for being high. It's only worth it for Range Rovers :p

Sadly, Carmax is no haggle, which mean no negotiation.

I'd probably keep it stock. I like how the Aura looks.

lame, I guess?

Worth it to me. Just the standard Carmax markup.
I'm getting tired of the whole "it's a Saturn" thing. These aren't the S-line of cars from the 90s. They were quality products, better than what most other GM companies were putting out.

Eh, they'd probably only knock a grand or two off the price anyway. 14k doesn't sound too bad.

It has (almost) the same radio of my Euro Aveo...

GM used that damn radio in everything for a long time.
See 09 Silverado
2008 G6
2010 Acadia
Just a standard-issue delco unit most likely.

I have always liked the Aura. The only thing against them in my book is the front bumper has to come off in order to change a headlight bulb.

Yeah, but that still doesn't give it the resale value of a Honda. They were quality products, but that doesn't give it a high used-car value. Even though "it's a Saturn" may not apply to the quality of the Aura, it *does* apply to the price. Especially for a defunct brand.
The S-series is awesome. You could even get a RHD wagon! Look like the cool JDM kidz yo, but a sunroof would've been nice (it was never available on any SW1 or SW2). And of course, the Ion coupe puts the CLA, CLS, CC, 4- and 6-series to shame, telling them what a REAL 4-door coupe is! In fact, Mercedes was very inspired by Saturn in developing the CLS.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.
I have a strange feeling that's how the Vue's headlight bulbs have to be changed too. I am not looking forward to that.

but...but...you could have a bitchin' e36 M3 for that price
Though honestly, the Aura is definitely a smarter choice

And it's probably a lot cheaper to insure.
And won't cost an arm and leg in upkeep.
I'll pick up an E36 M3 eventually. It's my favorite M-car.

It's basically a last gen Opel Vectra, given that the new Vectra is a Buick now, this is a Buick for Saturn money, right???

Actually, chances are an E36 would be much cheaper to insure. Even though it is classified as a sports car, the new-ness of the Saturn means it will be a lot more. (Source: Geico)

I had a bad experience with one of these at 'max, when I worked there.
I sold a Nissan Frontier over the phone to some guy in Missouri who wanted to come and pick it up in Maryland. On the day of the pick-up, I was in a rush and had to find a dealer car to pick him up in that was under $15,000 (Carmax Policy). My requirements were that it must have good A/C, considering it was July (therefore, GM), with leather and other stuff that would make it look like it was more than $15,000.
Anyway, long story short, I picked him up and at a toll booth on the way back from the airport we got rear-ended (by a another car with dealer tags, ironically). Everyone was ok and the car wasn't really all that damaged.
However, Carmax put me on paid leave for a week in order to insure I'm not injured (which I wasn't). Sounds great, but paid leave for someone who works on full-commission is a hassle.

Well, I guess you got a bad aura from an Aura... oh my god.
